Ugh! I thought to myself, a puzzle game! Puzzle games are for smartphones only good to play when you’re waiting for a bus! I’m not spending money on a puzzle game for my PC or console!īut then the game popped up on Steam under games suggested for me, and after watching the trailer, I decided I’d give it a go. The Talos Principle has been out for some time now, and I must admit I’ve passed it frequently in the store, maybe glanced at it once or twice, saw that it was exclusively a puzzle game and turned my nose up at it. Yet here I am, blogging about The Talos Principle a science fiction puzzle game from Croteam the creators of Serious Sam. That kind of game comes along once in a blue moon in my experience, and discovering Bloodborne last year, I wasn’t really expecting another blue moon to come along so quickly. Off the top of my head, I can really only think of perhaps Bloodborne, BioShock Infinite and Kingdom Hearts being games that completely surprised me and had lasting affects which still ripple through me today. Very few games have had that sort of impact on me. ![]() ![]() It isn’t often that I sit down to play a game and end up with an entirely different and more profound experience than expected.
